Ankara Blossoming
28th May, 2015
Ankara in Blossom was a project inspired by all the gorgeous and bold patterns in African fabric. Making the card took a while because I didn't start with a design in mind but went along adding details as I worked. It was important for me to 'raise' the flower to create a 3D effect because I felt that a flat flower would be too boring!! I also limited the colors I worked with to blue and green (I usually like to fuse more color in similar projects) just to see how it would turn out in the end. It did appear to all tie in well because the client and the recipient called back to say they loved it. Do you?
