It's not a big one but after months of sadness,
You too will forget the simple act of spreading your lips widely
But I hope the brightness of my eyes speaks my gratitude.
I mingle freely in the market with women and children,
And I smile, because the stench is no more;
My presence no longer gives a hot chase,
And I no longer need to learn how to run from myself.
I smile because you smile at me first,
And since am relearning how to smile,
I practice my smile more and more
