My mother land

I don't want to be a pariah in you

That is why I stand alone to protect that which you stand for

Shower me with your love and care

Cause me to stand out

In dejection of rejection

I made wisdom out of my mystery

I thought I was living a lifeless life in a life full of life

But now I know that I have hope in the land of the hopeless

I have embraced you

I have accepted my identity in love

In it I have discovered "who I am" and "what I am"

And I cannot trade it for the world

As the sun shines down at me in hope

The ground produced it's yield for me

Mortals acknowledge my existence

I am, I am, I am proud to be AN AFRICAN IDOL
